우리의 인생행로에서 때로 어둡고 위험한 길로 나가게 될 때 무엇보다 하나님 말씀의 조명이 있어야 합니다.
시인은 하나님의 말씀을 등과 빛으로 묘사하였습니다. 등은 밤에, 빛은 낮에 비췹니다. 하나님 말씀의 명료성은 성경 자체만 해당되는것이 아니고 그 빛으로 다른 것들을 분명히 보는 것을 의미합니다. 하나님의 말씀은 우리가 가야할 길(105절), 의로운 행위(106절), 고난(107절), 바른 예배(108절), 생의 위기(109절), 올무를 놓는 악인(110절), 그리고 우리의 기업을 분명하게 알려 줍니다(11절). 그래서 시인은“내가 주의 율례들을 영원히 행하려고 내 마음을 기울였나이다”(112절) 라고 말합니다.

1. 우리가 가야 할 길
성경은 우리에게 특별히 신비로운 인도를 하지는 않습니다. 다만 성도가 취해야 할 우선권이 무엇인가를 보여줍니다. 세상은 우리에게 잘못된 우선권을 택하도록 하고 사악한 것을 칭찬합니다.

2. 의로운 행위
105절은 그리스도 예수를 믿음으로 우리에게 전수된 의를 말한 것이 아니라 의로운 행위를 말씀합니다. 무엇이 옳고 그른 것인지 알기 위해서 우리는 성경이 필요합니다. 성경의 가르침은 언제나 분명합니다. 세상은 어둡지만 성경은 도덕의 빛입니다. 성경은 어둠을 통해 우리가 어떻게 빛으로 걸어가는지를 분명하게 가르칩니다.

3. 고난
고난 가운데 있는 시인은 성경말씀에로 돌이켜 거기에 임재하시는 하나님을 찾았습니다. 생명의 소생을 약속하신 하나님을 만난 것입니다.

4. 바른 예배
바른 예배의 두 가지 요소는 하나님의 율법을 가르치는 것과 하나님을 찬양하는 것입니다.

5.우리의 기업
시인은 원수가 놓은 올무에 빠져 위험에 직면했습니다. 그러나 그는 결코 하나님 말씀을 떠나지 않았습니다. 영적 전쟁은 영적 기업으로 인도합니다. 성도가 바라는 것, 곧 성도의 기업은 하늘의 상, 금 면류관, 천국, 그리고 하나님의 칭찬입니다. 그러나 그 무엇보다 하나님 말씀이 성도의 가장 큰 기업이 되어야 합니다.

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
성도의 가장 큰 기업은 하나님 말씀이며, 하나님 말씀을 끝까지 지키는 것이 곧 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 일입니다. 하나님 말씀을 따라 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 삶을 사는 저와 여러분이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.


The clarity of God’s word
(Psalm 119:105-112)

When our destiny leads us through a dark and dangerous path, we need the guiding light of God’s word to save our lives more than anything else. The psalmist describes God’s word as a light and a lamp: a lamp for the night and a light for the day.
The clarity of God’s word refers not only to the clear message of the Bible itself, but, as with light, to everything else that can be seen clearly. God’s word discloses the path that we have to go (v.105), righteous behavior (v. 106), suffering (v. 107), right worship to God (v. 108), crisis of life (v. 109), the wicked who set a snare (v.110), and our heritage. Therefore, the Psalmist says,“ My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end”(v. 112).

1. The path we must follow
The Bible leads us in a mysterious way. It only demonstrates to us what our preference should be. On the other hand, the world makes us prefer the wrong path and praises evil.

2. Righteous behavior
Due to our faith in Jesus Christ, verse 105 refers to righteous behavior, but it does not mean a righteousness that is automatically handed over to us. We need the Bible in order to know what is right or not. The Bible always teaches us correctly. The world is dark, but the Bible is the light of morality. It teaches us how to walk rightly in the light through the darkness.

3. Suffering
The psalmist looked toward the Bible in the midst of suffering and looked there for God’s existence. Finally, he met the God who had promised to revive his life.

4. Right worship to God
There are two elements of right worship to God: one is teaching God’s law, and the other is praising Him.

5. Our heritage
The psalmist was confronted with danger, where his enemy had set a snare, but he never strayed from God’s word. Spiritual warfare should lead to spiritual heritage. What Christians want as a heritage must be the reward of heaven: the golden crown, heaven itself, and God’s praise. Above all, however, God’s word itself should be the greatest heritage of Christians.

My beloved congregation!
The greatest heritage of all Christians is God’s word, and the fact that we keep His word to the very end is what makes Him happy. By making Him happy according to His word, I earnestly pray that you and I would preserve our lives in the name of Jesus Christ.
