기독교와 교육은 매우 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있습니다. 기독교 역사를 보면 예수 그리스도의 복음이 전해지는 곳마다 학교가 세워지고 문명이 퇴치되고, 신학문이 도입된 것을 알 수 있습니다.
본문은 배움과 신앙의 관계를 말합니다. 우리가 하나님 말씀을 배우게 되면 말씀 안에서 행하고 순종하기를 원하게 됩니다. 그래서 시인은 바르게 배우기 위해 하나님께서 선생님이 되어 달라고 간청합니다.

1. 하나님 말씀 대학에 입학 하자
33-34절은 우리가 왜 하나님 말씀 대학에 입학해야 하는지 그 동기를 밝히고 있습니다. 시인은 무엇을 가졌거나 가진 것을 개발하기 원해서가 아니고 거룩한 삶을 살기 위해 말씀 대학의 문을 두드린다고 합니다. 그리고 하나님의 뜻을 따르기 원하니 가르쳐 달라고 간청하는 기도를 합니다. 하나님의 법을 지키기 원하니 깨닫게 해달라는 것입니다.
우리도 하나님의 말씀이 가르치는 길에 대해 무지합니다. 또 그 길을 갈 수 있는 힘도 없습니다. 그러므로 하나님 말씀 대학에 입학하여 하나님의 가르침을 받고, 하나님께 구속 받는 삶을 살아야 합니다.

2. 하나님 말씀 대학에서 진보를 나타내라
하나님 백성은 말씀대학에 균형 잡힌 교육을 받아 지식과 인격을 개발해야 합니다. 하나님 말씀 대학의 교육 목표는 하나님 말씀을 지키므로 4가지 부분, 곧 마음, 발, 소원, 눈이 하나님의 다스림을 받도록 하는 것입니다.
① 마음을 하나님이 다스려 주소서 - 믿음을 갖게 하소서
② 내 발을 다스려 주소서 - 행함이 있게 하소서
③ 마음의 소원을 다스려 주소서
④ 내 눈을 하나님의 도에 고정시켜 주소서 - 바른 목표를 향해 달려가게 하소서

3. 하나님 말씀 대학에서 위로와 격려를 받으며 살라
시험과 위험에 직면했을 때 시인은 오직 하나님의 도움만이 필요한 것을 알고 있었습니다. “주를 경외하게 하는 주의 말씀을 주의 종에게 세우소서”(38절). 하나님의 약속은 곧 말씀입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 죄를 회개한 자에게 생명의 약속으로, 하나님의 길로 가기로 결정한 이에게 영생의 약속으로, 복음을 거절하는 이에게는 죽음과 심판을 약속하셨습니다.

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
그리스도인은 모든 일에 인내해야 합니다. 우리가 참 그리스도인이라면 하나님 말씀 학교에 입학하여 끝까지 힘써 배워야 합니다.
하나님 말씀 대학에서 신실하게 배워 모든 일에 진보를 나타태고 균형 잡힌 인격자가 되어 복음을 증거하며 사는 저와 여러분이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.

In God’s school
(Psalm 119:33-40)

Christianity is closely related to education. Whenever we look at the history of Christianity, we find in every place where the gospel of Jesus Christ was transmitted that schools were established, societies became civilized, and new studies were introduced.
This psalm teaches us the relationship between learning and faith. Once we learn God’s word, we naturally seek to act and obey Him in His word. The psalmist asks God to be his teacher, so that he can truly learn His word.

1. Shall we enter the University of God’s word?
Verses 33-34 define the reason why we should enter the University of God’s word. These verses tell us that the psalmist knocks at the door of the University of God’s word in order to live a holy life, not because he wants to gain something more or develop what he already has.
Rather, he prays that God will instruct him in following His will. This means that, in order to keep His law, he asks for understanding in His law. We lack the ability to teach His word. We also lack the power to live according to His word.
Therefore, we must enter the University of God’s word, study what He teaches, and preserve the redeemed life under Him.

2. Demonstrate your advancement in the University of God’s word!
God’s people should receive a balanced education in the University of God’s word and improve their knowledge and character. This University teaches us to keep His word in four areas: our heart, feet, desires, and eyes should be directed by God.
(1) May God control my heart! ? May God keep my faith!
(2) May God direct my feet! ? May God fulfill your word!
(3) May God rule the desire of my heart!
(4) May God fix my eyes on the truth! ? May God direct me to run toward
the right goal!

3. your life by being relieved and encouraged in the University of God’s word!
When the psalmist is confronted with trials and danger, he only knows that he needs God’s help. “Fulfill your promise to your ervant, so that you may be feared”(v. 38). God’s promise is His word. His word becomes a promise of life to those who confess their sins, eternal life to those who follow the path of His commands, and death and judgment to those who refuse His gospel.

My beloved congregation!
Christians must be patient in all situations. If we are really faithful Christians, then we will enter the University of God’s word, and learn with all our heart to the very end. By learning faithfully in the University of God’s word, showing our advancement, and attaining a balanced character, I earnestly pray that you and I will testify to the gospel in the name of Jesus Christ.
