위기속에서 하나님의 사람들은 시편 121편을 읽고 위로를 받습니다.

1. 순례자의 신앙
본시는 순례자의 시로서 순례자들이 연중 축제일에 유다의 고지대에 위치한 예루살렘으로 올라가면서 부르는 노래 중 두 번째입니다.
시편 121편을 시공을 초월하여 순례자들로 하여금 강한 제자됨의 노래를 부릅니다. 이 시의 첫 줄에서 제자들은 불신 세계의 상징인 메섹과 게달에서 출발하여 자신들의 눈을 하나님께 신뢰하는 표시로 하늘을 향하고 있음을 노래합니다. 인생의 길이 위험하고 험난할 지라도 여호와께서 실족치 않게 하실 것이고, 우리의 발을 지키시는 하나님은 마음도 지켜주실 것입니다.

2. 하늘과 땅을 지으신 이
순례자가 산을 본 것은 도우시는 하나님을 바라본 것입니다. 시인이 예배하는 하나님과 도움을 요청한 하나님은 천지를 지으신 분입니다. 이 노래는 성전에 올라가는 노래 중에서 계속 반복됩니다.
이 시에는 산 너머 우주, 우주 넘어 창조주 사상이 있습니다. 하나님이 살아있는 도움이고 원리이시며, 그 분은 인격자 되시고 지혜와 그 넓이와 깊이를 잴 수 없는 분이십니다.
하나님의 목적, 하나님의 속성, 전가되지 않는 약속, 만물 안에 있는 질서와 섭리와 예정, 하나님의 신실성은 우리가 눈을 들어 보아야 할 산입니다. 거기서 우리의 도움이 옵니다.

3. 우리를 지키시는 하나님
우리를 지키시는 하나님은,
① 방심하지 않으시는 파수꾼이시며,
② 오른쪽에서 그늘이 되시고,
③ 항상 우리의 보호자가 되십니다.

4. 고난이 엄습할 때
우리를 대적하는 것들에 대해 사도 바울은 롬 8:35에서 환난과 곤고와 핍박과 기근과 적신과 위험과 칼이라고 했습니다. 그러나 그 어느 것도 우리를 하나님으로부터 끊을 수 없습니다. 바울은 이 편지를 상아탑에서 쓴 것도, 즉흥적으로 쓴 것도 아닙니다. 그는 많은 고난을 경험했고, 그럼에도 불구하고 그 같은 고난들이 그를 그리스도의 사랑에서 끊을 수 없음을 알았습니다.
하나님은 밤낮으로 우리를 지키시며 우리를 넘어지게 하는 것들과 넘어질 때 영광의 자리로 우리를 이끌어 가십니다.

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
성숙한 신자는 고난이나 두려움에 눈을 감지 않습니다. 기독교인의 삶은 하나님께로 가는 것입니다. 항상 하나님을 바라보며 하나님께로 나아가는 저와 여러분이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.

Lift up your eyes to the hills
(Psalm 121:1-8)

Whenever God's people are in the midst of crisis, they can read Psalm 121 and be comforted by it.

1. Pilgrim's faith
Psalm 121 is the second psalm of the songs of ascent, which the pilgrims sung as they ascended towards Jerusalem on the Jude heights during the annual fete day. This psalm transcends time and space, giving all pilgrims a song to sing and providing them strength as disciples. In the first verse, the disciples start from Meshech and Kedar, symbols of an unfaithful world, and keep their eyes on heaven, which is an expression of believing God.
Although the path of life is dangerous and difficult, the Lord promises not to let our foot slip. He who watches over our feet will also watch over our thoughts.

2. The Maker of heaven and earth
The statement that the pilgrim sees the hill means that he sees the God who will help him. This God, who receives the psalmist's worship and helps him in his request, is the Maker of heaven and earth. Verse 2 is repeated continually throughout all the songs of ascents.
This psalm shows us that the Maker's thoughts extend from beyond the universe - the universe that is beyond the hills. God is a living and true Helper.
He is a Man of character, such that we cannot survey His wisdom, width, and depth. We must lift up our eyes to the hills and see God's purpose, character, and promise. We must never reckon the consistency, providence, prearrangement, and faithfulness, which rightfully belong to God, to men.

3. The God, who watches over us
The God, who watches over us is:
(1) our attentive guard
(2) our shade at our right hand
(3) always our protector.

4. When suffering comes over us
In Romans 8:35, the apostle Paul says that the dangers against us are trouble, hardship, prosecution, famine, nakedness, danger, and sword. Nothing can separate us from God. Paul didn't write this in an ivory tower nor extempore.
He himself experienced many troubles. However, he realized that such suffering could never separate us from the love of Christ. When we are brought down by things such as troubles and hardship, we know that God will keep us day and night, and lead us on to His glorious throne.

My beloved Christians!
Mature Christians do not close their eyes in the face of suffering and fear.
Their lives are guided by God. I sincerely pray that you will look up and move forward toward God in the name of Jesus Christ.
