솔로몬 왕은 '너는 청년의 때에 너의 창조주를 기억하라' 고 했습니다. 청년의 때는 인생의 봄이요 봉우리며 출발이고 기회의 때입니다. 당신의 마음에는 무엇으로 채워져 있습니까? 우리의 마음은 하나님의 말씀을 위한 집이 되어야 합니다. 특히 청년의 마음에는 하나님 말씀이 거해야 합니다.

1.언제부터 하나님의 말씀으로 살아야 할까?
‘청년’은 육체적 나이를 말하기보다‘이른 시간’을 말합니다. 늦었다고 생각하는 시간이 가장 빠른 시간이라는 말이 있습니다.
소년 다니엘, 인류의 구속 사업을 이루신 예수님, 요한 칼빈(John Calvin), 마틴 루터(Martin Luther), 리빙스톤(Livingston)선교사, 이들은 모두 젊은 시절에 하나님의 말씀을 가슴에 품고 산 사람들입니다.
청년들 앞에는 무한한 지식이 있지만 경험과 능력이 부족하기 때문에 좋은 스승과 인도자가 필요합니다. 성경에는 이 세상 일만 스승보다 더 큰 지혜와 지식이 있습니다. 그러므로 성도는 청년의 때부터 하나님 말씀을 마음에 담고 익히고 활용해야 합니다.

2.무엇을 해야 하나?
시인은 진심으로 주를 찾고, 주의 말씀만 지키겠으니 주의 계명에서 떠나지 말게 해달라고 기도합니다. 우리가 주의 말씀을 지키려면 하나님의 말씀과 사탄의 음성을 조심스럽게 구별해야 합니다. 그리고 하나님 말씀에 가감하지 말아야 합니다. 바리새인들은 하나님 말씀에 자기들 율례를 더했고, 사두개인들은 하나님 말씀에서 자기 비위에 거슬리는 부활 진리를 뺐습니다. 또 자유주의자들은 비과학적이라는 이유로 하나님 말씀에서 이것저것을 제하였습니다. 이들은 모두 오만한 자들입니다. 우리는 좌로나 우로나 치우치지 말고 오직 하나님 말씀대로 살아야 합니다.

3.왜 그렇게 해야 하나?
젊을 때부터 하나님 말씀을 배우고 익히고 사랑해야 하는 이유는 주께 범죄치 않기 위함입니다(11절). 하나님 말씀이 없으면 죄가 우리를 넘어지게 할 것이고 따라서 거룩한 삶을 살 수 없게 됩니다.
우리는 주의 말씀을 즐거워하기 위해 항상 말씀을 묵상하고 기억해야 합니다.
말씀은 우리에게 지혜와 명철을 주고, 명예와 은총을 주시며, 무엇보다 성령을 주십니다.

사랑하는 성도 여러분,
성도는 주의 규례들을 즐거워하며 선포해야 합니다. 날마다 주의 법도를 묵상하고 잊지 말아야 합니다.
청년들이여! 여러분의 어깨에 조국과 교회의 미래가 있습니다. 하나님 말씀을 가슴에 품고 배우고 행하는 여러분들이 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 간절히 소원합니다.


You must start when you're young
(psalms 119:9-16)

King Solomon once said, "Remember your Creator when you are young." The time of youth is the spring, when life is budding and starting. It is the best chance of a lifetime. What is a youth's mind filled with? The mind was meant to be a storehouse for God's word. Therefore, above all, a youth's mind must be filled with the Lord's word.

1. At what point should we fill our life with the Lord's word?
The word, 'youth,' suggests an early time of life rather than merely physical age. We see that Daniel as a young boy, Jesus Christ who atoned for man's sin, John Calvin, Martin Luther, and the missionary Livingston, all lived and held the Lord's word in their heart when they were young. Although youth can have endless knowledge, they need a good teacher due to their lack of experience and capability. Inside the Bible, there is greater wisdom than ten thousand teachers of the world. Therefore, Christians have to keep the Lord's word in their heart from the time of their youth and learn to make good use of it.

2. What do we have to do?
The psalmist prays that by seeking Him with all his heart, and keeping His word, the Lord will not let him stray from His commands. If we want to keep the Lord's word well, we should discriminate the Lord's word from Satan's voice very carefully. We must never add or take away anything from the Lord's word.
Pharisees added their own law to the Lord‘s word and the Sadducees reduced the truth of the resurrection. Liberalism took out one thing or another from the Lord's word in accordance with their scientific reasoning. All of these men were arrogant. We must not turn from God's word to the right or to the left. We must only live according to the God's word.

3. Why do we have to do like that?
The reason why youth should learn, practise, and love God's word is in order that we might not sin against God (v. 11). If there is no word from God, then our sins will cause us to fall. Accordingly, we cannot keep living a holy life. We must always meditate on His word and keep His word in our mind, in order that we might rejoice in His word. His word gives us wisdom and understanding, honor and grace, and moreover, His Spirit.

My beloved congregation!
Christians should remember and rejoice in all of God's laws. Everyday, we should meditate on His decrees and not forget His word.
Young people! Upon your shoulders are the homeland and the future of the church. By embracing God's word in your heart, I earnestly pray that you will learn His word and put it into practice in the name of Jesus Christ.
